Making a Low cost Sports Car

So we decided that we are going to build a Low Cost Sports Car.

Firstly, we need to establish a direction - what approach or styling or engineering configuration or formula are we going to use?

In this course, what better low cost minimalistic sports car is better to take note to and refer to but the Lotus Super 7.

Just take a look at the photo above...

The reason why this car is a success is so obvious.

There is more power over the weight.

Now, let us try putting a better looking coat over this lean praying mantis.

Like a Ferrari 308 GTS.

Now that we have a clearer imagery of how a subframe can be fitted under a beautiful body - I guess there is no limit to what the imagination can do doesn't it?

It's actually really easy to build.

The next question is How much?

:-)

Relatively - not that much.

  1. maybe a reverse trike would be an interesting design to a low cost sports car... i like your trima s3 project...

  2. You are right... I guess I would need to focus on the TRIMA concepts.

This is just a design excercise... in other words... Just playing around with some free time in my hands.
